The 2006 Chianti Classico Riserva is simply beautiful. Everything is in gorgeous balance as dark cherries, plums, violets and spices come together in a fresh, vibrant expression of Sangiovese. The wine is singing today, but it will be even more delicious in another year or two. The Chianti Classico spent 16 months in French oak, 40% of which was new. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2021. -AG
