(from vines planted in 1986 and located in very compact, dense soil full of rocks and minerals aged in 33% new wood). A very subtle touch of wood frames a pretty and airy blend of white flower, pear and white peach aromas that are in keeping with the round, intense and obviously mineral-driven flavors that possess really lovely depth and length. Compared to the Referts, this is almost delicate with an understated style that complements the laser-like focus. Terrific.

This is the youngest 1er Cru for Boudot, with vines aged 20 years. This wine is still undergoing alcoholic fermentation and as sugar levels around 3 grams. The nose is very dense, lush and tropical. On the palate ripe pear and melon are accented by a light apricot. Medium in body, with a nice acid. Slight sweetness to the finish will disappear once the alcoholic fermentation is complete.

Round and supple, with good underlying sizzle, setting the stage for the lemon custard, hazelnut and stone aromas and flavors. It's all well-integrated and remains long on the finish. The vines here are 22 years old. Best from 2010 through 2018. 80 cases imported. -B.S.
