This cuvee of 84% Syrah and 16% Petite Sirah is truly "Relentless" to the senses--from the black and blue saturated hue to the boldness of grilled meat and sauvage notes that jump out of the glass. The palate provides blackberry, black plum and blueberry fruit, along with coffee and pepper. This layered effort soaks up the new French Oak making for a seamless integration. The Petite Sirah plays well off the Syrah, making for a wonderful teeth-staining experience!

The 2006 Relentless may be even better. It possesses an opaque purple hue as well as a grapy, smoky perfume displaying scents of roasted meats, blackberries, licorice, and charcoal. This packed and stacked, full-bodied 2006 should drink beautifully for 10-15 years.

Incredibly intense, with dense, focused, vivid black cherry, berry, spice, cassis, herb and licorice flavors. Lush, supple textured, round and elegant, it1s quite peppery, nonetheless, and framed in ripe, meaty tannins. Named for the relentless efforts of winemaker Elias Fernandez, the wine is silky smooth and long at the end. An outstanding first Syrah from this winery, best known for Cabernet. - J.M. Dense, rich and chewy, with tightly wound mineral, graphite, plum and berry flavors that are full-blown and concentrated. This gains depth and nuance on the finish, while retaining its structure and focus. Syrah and Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2016. 3,800 cases made. -JL
