A very pure nose of fresh cherry and raspberry aromas nuanced by a very subtle touch of earth gives way to fruit-driven light to middle weight flavors that are delicious, dusty and sappy and while this is light and lacks just a hair of ripeness, it still manages to be quite pretty.

Light ruby red with slight pink at the rim. Aromas of strawberry, sour cherry and cinnamon are complemented by jasmine, black pepper and wet earth. On the palate, this is light-to-medium bodied, with cardamom, leather and turned earth notes. Not at all aggressive in its tannin structure, with soft balance in acidity. A very nice wine to drink in the near term.

Deep red in color and very brilliant. The nose is open and very fruity with pure notes of strawberry and alcohol-preserved cherries along with a few spicy notes. The palate is fleshy and the tannins well-integrated. This wine should be appreciated when young for its excellent fruit / tannin balance.

About Winery

When Michel Bouchard settled in Burgundy in 1731 to set up a flourishing business in the fabric trade followed by branching out to become a wine broker, he laid down the family's Burgundian roots. In 1750, his eldest son, Joseph, joined him in his venture, reaffirming the presence of the Bouchards in the Côte d'Or. Working closely with local winegrowers, they developed a unique form of expertise, and created the profession of négociant-winemaker-cellarer.

For over two centuries, the House of Bouchard Aîné & Fils has had as its mission an unyielding quest for perfection in quality, authenticity of style, the prestige that lies in a name, and perfect mastery of grape selection, winemaking and ageing. The first négociants came into being at the beginning of the 18th century to meet the demand of French and Flemish clients in particular; this was the beginning of the development of international trade.
