Very strong reduction renders the nose impossible to read fairly but the rich, full, sweet and velvety flavors are seductive and underpinned by supple tannins and excellent length. This is a wine of harmony and while the funky nose makes this hard to say for sure, certainly the mouth feel and balance make this very Chambolle in character.

The domaine, located in Nuits-St.-Georges, has 12 acres distrib-uted among the following appellations: Richebourg- 70 year old vines, Clos Vougeot- between 15 & 55 years old, Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru "les Saint Georges"- 50-60 year old vines, Vosne Romanee 1er Cru "les Petits-Monts", Vosne Romanee "aux Reas"- 45 year old vines, Nuits Saint Georges "la Charmotte"- 42 year old vines and Bourgogne Rouge. The domaine has been in the Liger-Belair family for 250 years.
