Opaque, dark purple nearly out to rim. Ripe blueberry, blackberry, cassis and cherry aromas are enhanced by subtle minerality and notes of black tea and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit flavors on the palate, picking up spicy elements and firm tannins on the lengthy, pleasing finish. This shows great balance and the tannic backbone bodes well for aging. Still youthful, this will absolutely sing with some air.

The 2006 Petite Fleur is a blend of 50% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 10% Syrah aged for 10 months in new French oak. Saturated purple in color, it has a superb nose of pain grille, spice box, mineral, violets, cassis, black currants, and black cherry. This is followed by a medium-bodied, elegant wine with layers of savory fruit, spicy flavors, enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years, and a 45-second finish. It should offer peak drinking from 2011 to 2021.
