Crushed boysenberry and blackberry abound on the nose and palate. Lush fruit on the entry is reined in by cleansing acidity and a minerally element reminiscent of Southern Italian varieties (aka Aglianico from Campania). Secondary notes of chocolate, cracked pepper and black licorice add to the layered factor giving this medium-bodied effort additional complexity. A kiss of oak and medium firm tannins compete the package and add depth to the finish.
