A slightly riper, cool and sophisticated mix of red, blue and black pinot fruit intermingles with notes of earth, crushed leaf and a hint of jerky that gives way to rich, full and more concentrated flavors that possess good detail and solid complexity on the moderately structured and even slightly chewy flavors that culminate in a balanced and impressively long finish. This is not a big Chapelle but I like the focus and sense of harmony.

($135) Medium red, a bit brighter than the Latricieres. Lively aromas of red cherry, raspberry and minerals. More tightly wound than the Latricieres, with a solid supporting structure. Finishes longer and more complex, with suggestions of minerals and earth and enticing floral perfume. More open today than the Chambertin.
