about this wine:

This wine is produced from grapes grown in several estate-owned vineyards. The Rossj vineyard, planted in 1984, is named for Angelo Gaja's younger daughter Rossana, (Rossj). 90 points,

Stephen Tanzer's IWC, December 2009

Bright yellow-gold color. Complex aromas of yellow fruits, flowers and honey. Supple, fat and almost surprisingly sweet for this bottling, but with lively acidity guaranteeing freshness. Finishes with noteworthy persistence. I like this chardonnay's combination of richness and verve, and prefer it to the 2006.

92 points,

Wine Spectator, May 2009

Full-bodied and powerful, with layers of pineapple and cream and apple tart character. Almost like a red in texture and length, but delivers loads of fresh fruit and crisp acidity. Beautiful. Chardonnay, with a dash of Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now. 2,250 cases made. -JS
