Rich golden color. Lots of clove, cinnamon, and orange on the nose. This delightful and delicate Sauternes has gobs of fruit on the front end complimented by laser like acidity through the mid-palate. Very enjoyable effort even as a barrel sample.

Tasted single blind against its peers. I have always felt that I was mean to the La Tour Blanche when I first tasted it out of barrel, principally because of the excessive level of residual sugar. There is just a touch of reduction on the nose but it opens up nicely. The palate is very classy: a hell of a lot of fruit concentration and layer upon layer of botrytized fruit. It is not exactly subtle and is missing some finesse, whilst the finish is long and persistent, disguising its sucrosity well. Tasted January 2011. -Neal Martin

Good bright medium gold. Aromas of pineapple and curry powder, with a strong component of vanillin oak. Very sweet and thick without coming off as heavy thanks to high-pitched orange peel and baking spice notes, and to sneaky, palate-energizing acidity. Not yet especially complex but very promising. The overall impression is of a more classic wine than this ch a teau has made in some recent vintages, less dominated by its sweetness.

Light gold color, but a wine with depth and balance. There is lovely acidity here, a wine that offers fresh fruits, apricot juice and deep layers of botrytis.

Sweet lemon and apple aromas, with floral honey. Full-bodied and very sweet, with a spicy, almost tangy finish of honey. Rich and layered. Best after 2014
