100% cabernet sauvignon from the Round Pond Estate vineyard and aged in 60% new tightly grained French oak. Dark, creamy red with good vibrancy. Classic Rutherford cab on the nose, this has enticing and balanced aromas of cassis, blue fruit, cedar and minerals. Utterly delicious in the mouth, with smooth, fine tannins centering around a core of fruit with a hint of hoisin sauce and black tea, all tied together nicely. On the finish, a good level of complexity pairs with terrific length. Tasting this again really reminds me of visiting Napa, as the 2007 Pedemonte Cabernet shows a keen sense of place.

Offers a pleasantly earthy, tobacco-laced mix of dried currant, sage, espresso, plum and black licorice that's firm, tight, balanced and full-bodied, showing excellent structure on the finish where the tannins hold the flavors in place. Drink now through 2020. 460 cases made. -JL
