Dark green gold. Knockout aromas of ripe pear, lemon zest, sweet peach, and freshly picked apricot lead to a viscous full-bodied palate. This matches intense fruit concentration with ample acidity to keep the delicious flavors flowing. Finishes clean and long. Although it's 100% barrel fermented, don't think vanilla bomb, think high quality Burgundy. A very bright and focused example of California Chardonnay, this is a huge success for Greg Linn.

Although the 2007 Ambullneo Vineyards Chardonnay Fang Blanc (100% barrel-fermented) is tightly coiled at present, there is no doubting its terrific potential. Tart acids underlie this light straw-colored wine that offers up notes of honeyed pears, tropical fruits, nectarines, and white peaches. Full-bodied, fresh, and crunchy, it is a total delight to smell and taste. Enjoy it over the next 5-7 years.
