About the Winery Chapoutier
Chapoutier has existed in the Rhone valley since 1808. In 1879, a
distant Chapoutier began to buy vines and moved from simply growing to
wine production and marketing. Seven generations later, Michel
Chapoutier has taken over production and continued the legacy begun by
that first Chapoutier. His youth, determination, and innovation
combined with his commitment to his family's legacy has led him to
produce a line of exceptional wines. One of the innovations of
M.Chapoutier is the introduction of Biodynamic farming to his
vineyards. He also imports grapes from Spain and Australia as well as
continuing to harvest from the magnificient terroirs throughout France.
The Chapoutier label is the perfect combination of tradition and
contemporary innovation.
