Fresh and bright on the palate with candied orange peel, juicy nectarine, cardamom and tropical fruit flavors. Intense honeyed notes throughout and a finish of salty caramel that lingers past the 30 second mark.

About Winery

This marvelous sweet white made by Sauternes producer Haut Bergeron is packed with flavor as well as value! Graves Superieures  is a relatively unknown appellation and most Chateaux in this area prefer to make either red or dry whites. Chateau La Fleur des Pins is made in the same style as Haut Bergeron and goes through a intense fruit selection at the time of harvest. Rather than harvesting all at once, the fruit is picked anywhere from 8-12 times before the final selection is made.  It is then vinified in the same style as Sauternes and aged  in new French Oak for 12 months.

When tasted blind among Bordeaux top Sauternes, La Fleur des Pins is always selected as one of the top. Yet owing to its address in lesser-known Graves Superieurs, it comes in at 30% of the average price of a bottle from its more famous neighbors making it a terrific deal. Pair with anything you would Sauternes or simply enjoy on its own.
