Pink grapefruit and brown-spiced apple - along with heady, gardenia-like perfume - scent the 2007 Braunebeger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese A.P. #6. This offers ravishing delicacy and wafting floral character on the palate, with a pure fruit concentration free of any over signs of botrytis. Hauntingly long, it misses only the element of refreshment and complexity when compared with the very best wines in this collection, but they set a standard whose toughness cannot be equaled at any other Mosel address in this vintage. -David Schildknecht
