Fascinating aromas of dried meat, berries and flowers. Full body, with a wonderful velvety tannin structure and a juicy and sweet fruit aftertaste. Impressive depth of fruit too. Very polished and well-made. Even better than 2006.

Medium garnet-mahogany hue with a brick colored edge. The nose is quite alluring with a mélange of dried cherry, tree bark, Asian five spice and crushed rose petals. You'll want to put your nose in the glass a few times to startle the senses. The palate confirms a worthy Brunello with plenty of cherry and cranberry fruit notes with tertiary elements of worked leather, pine needles and black truffles. The acidity is quite cleansing on the palate and perfectly balanced with the dried fruit. The tannins are angular as with a well-crafted Bordeaux and linger nicely on the finish along with tar, mineral and tobacco notes. Not overly ripe, this is one of the better 2007s I've tasted of late. Tempting to enjoy with an hour decant time, but this effort will benefit with another year of bottle age to really flesh out. Don't hesitate to cellar for another five years.
