about this wine:
Share of their situation, the red wines resulting from the Premiers Crus of Pernand-Vergelesses are at the same time fine and elegant. They offer more fat and moreover power that Villages wines. The visual reveals a wine with purple-blue tints and subtle nuances. Its expressive raspberries violets and blackcurrant notes offer a fleshy and beautiful intensity wine. In mouth its full and delicate texture will astonish us. Charmed and delighted with the harmony of this appellation, the consumer will succumb to the magic and the enchantment of the wines of Pernand.
John Perry, JJ Buckley, December 2010
Shows a delicate and restrained nose of cherry and blackberry upon opening, but after some time it expands aromatically to display nice freshness and depth. An underlying streak of minerality runs through, along with a lovely spice component that blends well with the fruit and a whiff of citrus rind. Silky in texture, it offers focused, firm flavors of tangy cherry, berry and rhubarb. Still quite youthful in profile, this is well structured, as shown when a little air coaxes forth the potential of the wine.
Wine Spectator, October 2010
This fresh red evokes cherry and ripe berry flavors, with accents of mineral and forest floor. A frank, straightforward red with easy charm and moderate length. Drink now through 2014. 60 cases imported. -BS
