2007 Mongeard-Mugneret, Domaine Savigny les Beaunes les Narbantons Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir: 750ml
$42.99
about this wine:
Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons reds have an intense colour which is more vivid than that of the "Villages" appellations. Their bouquet is elegant and powerful, dominated by red fruits.
The premiers crus, concentrated and full of tannins, combine character, finesse and elegance. These wines are noted for their finesse and can be drunk while still very young, although those from the good years reach their true excellence when fully mature. Les Narbantons is a wine that is both fine and full-bodied, one which needs to be aged for longer than other Savigny-lès-Beaune premier cru. It can be kept for 6 to 8 years on average.

Medium red / violet core with a light red rim. Abundant red fruits on the nose present themselves in the form of cherry, raspberry and strawberry, followed by menthol, cedar, and subtle notes of underbrush. Medium / light weight with good acidity and fine tannins. The fresh strawberry and cola flavors last nicely on the finish, which is quite precise and acid driven.

Medium ruby red in color. The red fruit and mineral-infused nose offers textbook typicity. Aromatically, this is classically fruit driven, with no undue wood influences encumbering the nose. Medium weight, with soft, crunchy acidity framing a classic red pinot fruit palate that includes nuances of cranberry and pomegranate, this is a delicious, easy-drinking quaffer.
Wine Spectator, September 2010
A broad, beefy style, featuring rustic tannins that support rich cherry and smoke flavors. Moderate length. This is a red for hearty dishes. Best from 2012 through 2017. 150 cases imported. -BS
