Lovely bouquet of dark cherry and cooked strawberry, mixed with iron, mineral notes and a touch of smoke. Soft and inviting on the palate, the wine is elegant without being overpowering, staying true to the Central Coast Pinot Noir flavor profile. Clean and tight on the finish, this is a solid offering

The 2008 Pinot Noir Mount Carmel (14.8%) exhibits plenty of black cherry and strawberry notes with hints of lead pencil shavings, Chinese black tea, and earth. Dark ruby, medium to full-bodied, with a striking minerality, this is among the tightest knit and most structured and backward of the 2008 Pinots. One senses that everything is trying to burst the seams beneath its structured veneer. Give it 1-2 years of bottle age and drink it over the following 10-15.

Bright ruby. High-pitched, floral-accented aromas of red cherry, Asian spices and minerals. An enticingly sweet, sappy midweight, with very good lift and spice to its red berry and floral pastille flavors. Lovely pinot noir, finishing with fine-grained tannins and very good length. This is an excellent entry-level wine. -Josh Raynolds
