Beautiful ruby rim, medium ruby to the core. Captivating Gevrey nuances of iron, mineral and peat underscore bright and room-filling aromas of black cherry and currant. Medium bodied and palate caressing, the dark pinot fruit from the aromatics follows onto the palate, combining with the silky tannins in a robe of pure drinkability. There are no hard edges here, yet the depth of the complexity ensures a decade of further evolution. This is a first class 1er Cru and very much worth a look. Drink from 2015+.

About Winery

Christophe Perrot-Minot's passion for, as well as dedication to, staggering, old-vine Burgundy caught the attention of Robert Parker as far back as 1995. An introductory tasting at Christophe's family domaine in the mid-1990's (known at that time as Henri Perrot-Minot) would render Parker so enthralled with these singular efforts as to prompt the world's most respected palate to pen quite the eloquent - as well as motivational - sentiments, "Speaking of superstars, Christophe Perrot-Minot is a name that may become as famous as Lignier, Dugat, Lafon, Roumier, and the like. I was as excited when I left this domaine as I was when I walked out of Arnauld Ente's in Meursault. Too many producers seem to search out either power or finesse (not both) and in the process produce wines that are caricatures of what they were trying to accomplish.
