An elegant, pure and quite stylish nose combines notes of dried rose petal, oyster shell and sea weed, all of which also add nuance to the equally pure middle weight flavors brimming with an almost pungent minerality and a saline character, all wrapped in an explosive, linear and bone dry finish.
Jeff Loo, JJ Buckley, July 2012
Pale, yellow straw in color with slight silver hues at the rim. Fresh aromas of baked brie, green apple, lemon curd and tangerine stand out against a frame of lavender and pulverized sea shells. The mouthwateringly high acidity comes in on the attack and stays throughout. Flavors of key lime pie, red apple skin and quince open the mid palate and lead to slightly hot finish. Give this a few years to come together and enjoy the following 4-6 years.

Drouhin Vaudon's 2008 Chablis Les Clos is (for its site) surprisingly decadent in aromas, evincing faded lily, quince, ripe peach and Persian melon, all of which follow on a luscious, succulent palate, suffused with recognizable site-typical chalk. This rather broad, impressively-concentrated, but in no way heavy Les Clos should drink well sooner than most 2008s from the site, but may well merit following for half a dozen or more years.

Taut, tight, steely wine that is immensely concentrated. This is classic mineral-driven Chablis, the crisp citrus fruit and pear flavors integrated into a dominant structure. It needs aging, 5-6 years or more.

A tantalizing mix of lemon, oyster shell, white peach and vanilla flavors, but underneath it all there's a mineral component. Tightens up on the finish, so give this a few years to integrate and blossom. Fine length. Best from 2012 through 2023. 77 cases imported. -BS
