A lovely deep pink color with a lighter salmon rim. Beautiful berry fruit on the nose- strawberries and raspberries are prominent, with notes of wildflowers providing a lift. Bright fruit fills the mouth on entry- nice weight for a rose while remaining clean and fresh. Just a touch of citrus and a hint of minerality round out the palate. Excellent acidity balances the fruit on a bright finish. Drink this now on its own as an aperitif or pair with spicy fare. A definite winner at this price.

About Winery

Chateau Le Gay was once owned by the Robin sisters, Marie and Thérèse, the legendary spinsters who owned Château Lafleur. In 1994, the most propitious half of the vineyard was sold to neighboring Château Lafleur-Petrus, which must have severely handicapped Le Gay and contributed to its decline in recent years.

Then in 2002 it was purchased by Catherine Péré-Vergé who owned the Pomerol property of Château Montviel and the Argentinean vineyard of Vista Flores, which produced the wine Clos de los Siete.  The arrival of new owners has ushered in a new era: the château-building rebuilt with a new cuvier that will use gravity to transfer the grapes into brand new vats made of French oak.
