John Sweeney, JJ Buckley, April 2009

This wine has huge tannins that spread all across the palate. On the nose and palate a plethora of black fruits as well a hint of toasted sesame seed, and vanilla. Very Nice.

91 points,

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2011

A sleeper of the vintage, this evolved, soft/silky, dark ruby/purple/plum-colored 2008 offers up scents of blue and red fruits, earth and flowers. Medium to full-bodied as well as round, generous and seductive, it is a pure, impeccably made, wonderfully concentrated, endearing wine to enjoy now and over the next 7-10 years.

91 points,

Wine Spectator, April 2011

Ripe, juicy and flattering, with delicious linzer torte, boysenberry and blackberry compote aromas and flavors, supported by solid grip and nice lingering anise and espresso on the dense, lengthy finish. Drink now through 2019. -JM

About Winery

Fleur Cardinale's name comes from the names of two horses owned by the first owner of the estate.  The estate sold its fruit on the Bordeaux market, but it wasn't until 1982 that Fleur Cardinale gained its reputation for excellent winemaking.  In 2001, the Decoster family gained possession of the vineyard and began to integrate biodynamic farming techniques while continuing the traditions of the estate in their winemaking.  In 2006, Chateau Fleur Cardinale was nominated to "Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe".
