Deep, opaque red at the core with slight garnet hues. The wine offers aromas of molasses, plum and pepper, complemented by rose petals and a sweet core of cinnamon spice. Medium bodied on the palate, this displays sleek acidity and soft tannins, while the mid palate is lifted with ripe red apple skins and cassis that lingers with mocha and tarragon. Give the wine a solid decant if you wish to enjoy now, but holding for another 2-3 years would be best. Drink from 2013-2020.

Far more showy was a barrel sample of the 2008 Isosceles Reserve, composed of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot. It exhibits sweeter tannins along with dense black fruits intermixed with charcoal, creme de cassis, roasted herbs, and spice box. It is a big, thick, juicy, nearly over-the-top wine with impressive balance.
