Incredibly dark, almost black at the core, with a dark purple rim. The nose showcases rich and complex notes of raspberry, cassis, crushed rock, dark chocolate and espresso. On the palate it presents loads of black and blue fruit and texture that is sure to impress cabernet afficionados. Silky and full bodied, this wine is delicious now and should only get better over the next decade or so. Shafer really hit the nail on the head with this one!

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five should turn out to be just as good. Slightly more powerful with sweeter fruit as well as more glycerin and fat, this is a big, full-bodied Stags Leap Cabernet offering abundant notes of roasted herbs, chocolate, cassis, incense and earth. Drink this deep, powerful 2008 over the next 10-15 years.
