Burghound, January 2010
Earthy, ripe, sauvage and red pinot fruit aromas marry into impressively rich, mouth coating and brooding middle weight flavors that culminate in a mildly rustic, firm and lingering finish where the dry extract buffers the structure and coats the insides of the mouth. A fine villages and worth a look.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2010
Dark cherry, licorice, and vanilla in the nose of Clair's 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin - tasted assembled from tank - are joined on a ripely-fruited though finely tannic palate by piquant fruit pit, invigorating salinity, and a rich suggestion of beef stock. This bids fair to reward over at least a 6-8 years period. -David Schildknecht
Stephen Tanzer's IWC, April 2010
Medium red. Red fruits and minerals on the nose, with hints of earth and iron; a tad rustic. Suppler and sweeter than the Chambolle, with more body and stuffing to support its building, granular tannins. Still a tad dry on the end, with a late note of licorice.

Clive Coates describes this as the "best cellar in the village" of
Marsannay, which is located at the northernmost tip of the Côte de
Nuits. The domaine is one of the finest in Burgundy, and this vigneron
is one to watch in the future, but he has not always enjoyed such
auspicious prospects. In "The Great Domaines of Burgundy", Remington
Norman writes: "Bruno Clair's excellent Domaine has grown out of a
certain amount of Burgundian misfortune." When Joseph Clair married
Mlle. Daü in 1910, their union formed one of the largest family-owned
domaines in the Côte d'Or,Domaine Clair-Daü.
