Pure and fruity with pretty currant and blueberry aromas and just a hint of sandalwood. Full body, with a round and velvety texture and a long finish. A little one dimensional but solid. Give it a year or two to soften.

As for those in bottle, my favorite is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. Most of this comes from the Sacrashe Vineyard as well. A dense, full-bodied wine with lots of creme de cassis, charcoal, licorice and forest floor, the wine is opulent and already delicious and powerful. It should continue to drink well for at least 12-15+ years.

Medium ruby-red. Pungent blueberry, cassis, mineral and licorice aromas show an almost liqueur-like sweetness. Then suave and fine-grained in the mouth, with concentrated, smooth dark berry and licorice flavors. The strong, building finish features intense, bright dark fruits and sweet chewy tannins.

Rich, with loamy earth, currant, black licorice and subtle cedar touches that build depth and complexity. Best from 2012 through 2020. 15,500 cases made. -JL
