Dark magenta at the core with a slight ruby tint towards the rim. Aromas of blackberry, caraway seed, hoisin and grilled meats, are wrapped around a frame of vanilla bean, roasted herbs and strawberry. Medium to full bodied, with bountiful amounts of tannin and acidity that keep each other in balance. Flavors of mocha, red cherry, boysenberry and currant come in on the mid palate, and lead to soft graphite and toasted oak on the finish. Give this wine another 3-5 years in the bottle or a solid 2 hour decant. This is very enjoyable wine from this vintage.
