The 2009 Langhe Nebbiolo is a big, powerful wine endowed with considerable textural richness. Sweet red cherries, tar, mint, flowers and licorice are some of the notes that take shape in the glass. This is one of the bigger vintages of this wine I can remember tasting. There is plenty of underlying structure to support the fruit. I would not be surprised to see this give many a Barolo or Barbaresco a run for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. -Antonio Galloni
