A very ripe nose speaks of cassis and liqueur of black raspberries that introduce the rich, intense and solidly voluminous flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel as the sap completely buffers the firm and ever-so-mildly rustic tannins on the impressively persistent finish. This should be excellent.♥

The 2009 Morey St. Denis Clos de la Bussiere offers up juicy blackberries, blueberries, spices and licorice in a powerful, authoritative style. The tannins are very much present, but they are also virtually covered by the sheer extract of the fruit. This needs a few years to shed some baby fat, but it is already deeply impressive. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034.

Medium red. Superripe aromas of cherry liqueur, chocolate and wild herbs. Less sweet in the mouth than the nose would suggest, with a medicinal reserve that's not a bad sign for a 2009. A bit chunky today but the long, ripely tannic finish suggests that this will reward several years of patience. 90+
