A big, blockbuster, impressive Medoc made from an equal-part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine from Bernard Magrez has an opaque bluish/purple color, with copious notes of Christmas fruitcake, cedar, creme de cassis, graphite and forest floor. Classified growth in quality, the moderate tannins in its finish leave the wine begging for 2-4 years of cellaring, but it should keep for nearly two decades.
