Deep red, just barely translucent. Ripe, earthy, and very Bordeaux on the nose, with some high toned aromas of raspberry shining through. Hints of plum, cardamom, powdered chocolate, coffee, and dry leather add to the aromas. Medium bodied and smooth on the palate, this 2009 is ready to drink now and will provide ample Bordeaux pleasure at a terrific price point for the next 3-4 years. Marjosse is the home estate of Pierre Lurton, director and winemaker of Cheval Blanc and director at Château d'Yquem.
