A cool, fresh and densely fruited nose of crushed citrus, green apple and mineral reduction gives way to seriously concentrated and overtly muscular flavors that possess a suave and silky mouth feel yet do not lack for an underlying reserve of power. This isn't as fine as the Montrachet but it's even longer, at least at present with a chewy character that provides evidence of the massive levels of extract. Even so, don't buy this with the intention of drinking it young as it will require plenty of cellar time, at least if you want to see its full potential realized.

Stephen Tanzer's IWC, October 2010

Slightly cloudy following a batonnage in mid-May. Pungent aromas of lime oil, spearmint and minerals, plus suggestions of riper stone fruits. Very rich, fat and deep, with a restrained sweetness to the flavors of citrus peel, green tropical fruits and stone. Finishes very long, with an almost tannic quality. A tad exotic today, and not showing the usual grip of this superb cuvee Bouchard owns 3.2 hectares in this grand cru, divided into four parcels. Prost told me that the team always picks Corton-Charlemagne late but in 2009 they were afraid of the high sugars and harvested earlier than usual. Still, he said, the last lot, which is explosive today, is also too exotic and may be declassified.
