2009 Bouchard Pere et Fils Nuits St Georges les Porrets St Georges Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir: 750ml

about this wine:
The name " les Porrets " probably comes from a deformation of the word " poiriers ". A long time ago, the vine advantageously replaced the orchards on this marly, chalky clay, so favourable to the great wines of the Côte de Nuits. In 2007, Bouchard Père & Fils pruchased 32 "ares" of this appellation, next to the " climat " Les Cailles.

This is quite ripe but stops just short of being surmature with its spicy, earth and liqueur-like aromas of black cherry and a hint of menthol. The rich, seductive and suave medium-bodied flavors finish with mild austerity on the surprisingly cool and well-balanced finish.

Good deep red. Complex aromas of black cherry, licorice and minerals, with nuances of mint, dark chocolate and gingerbread. Sweet, very ripe and concentrated, with nicely integrated acidity and mineral lift animating the mid-palate. Finishes with a medicinal licorice note and a whiff of leather. I like this wine's relative delicacy for the vintage.
