Dark ruby with a garnet core that pushes to a violet rim. Very savory on the nose, resplendent with intense aromas of black cherry and blackberry cobbler and framed with toasty barrel notes of baking spices and vanillin. An underlying perfume of crushed flowers is complemented with loamy, terroir-driven components of clay and fresh-turned earth. Smooth entry on the palate, with mouthwatering and supple black and blue fruit, showing a finesse and precision that leads to a rich and satisfying mid-palate. Tannins find a small grip on the finish, refreshing the palate and providing ample opportunity for development over the next 5 to 7 years.
