2009 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon: 750ml
$39.99
Alex Lallos, JJ Buckley, July 2012
Opaque at the core with a beautiful mahogany red rim. Intense aromas, which scream "cabernet" including black currant, licorice, all-spice, mint and subtle oak. Mid weight on the palate with hints of vanilla extract, blackberry liqueur, and fresh wood. Continues to build towards the long, slightly tight finish, which is replete with some serious tannins that, while very well integrated will surely soften over time.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon makes a good introduction to the house style. Layers of expressive dark red fruit, flowers, licorice and mint are nicely woven into an expressive, textured style that is very appealing. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017. - Antonio Galloni

Bright red-ruby. Expressive, open-knit aromas of currant and chocolate. Supple and sweet but a bit simple today, with dark fruit, chocolate and earth flavors showing good thickness and intensity but in need of more energy. Finishes a tad herbal, with substantial gritty, tongue-staining tannins.

Slightly lifted and racy, focused on dense blackberry and spice, with firm, chewy, fine-grained tannins that have a crushed rock edge. Drink now through 2021. 21,200 cases made.
