89 -91 points,

Burghound, May 2011

100% from Seuvrées. Not surprisingly, this is completely different aromatically as the earthy, sauvage, ripe and cool dark berry fruit and underbrush-infused nose is not nearly as refined. The rich and mineral suffused flavors possess good richness and a velvety mouth feel on the focused and lingering finish. This is a very fine villages and worth a look. - Comments: Outstanding

About Winery

"Benjamin Leroux is one of Burgundy's most promising young winemakers. Leroux is best known for the wines he makes at Comte Armand, one of the reference-point properties in the Cote de Beaune. Since 2007 Leroux has made wines under his own label using a micro-negociant model that has become increasingly popular in Burgundy. Leroux sources fruit from some of Burgundy's top sites and bottles an eye-popping 27 different wines, most in 2-3 barrel lots."
-Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Benjamin Leroux, the highly talented régisseur of Domaine Comte Armand  has started a négociant operation in a building just off the traffic circle in Beaune (known as the périphérique, or just the périph by the locals) that he shares with Dominique Lafon. Leroux emphasizes that he wants to keep his operation small and focus on terroirs that he finds "interesting or under appreciated" though it's not clear how any of these grands crus would qualify as under appreciated. He works essentially as he does at Comte Armand and notes, importantly, that for both reds and whites he buys exclusively grapes and not must or new wine."
-Allen Meadows, Burghound
