about this wine:
Located on the extreme east side of Chablis, « Les Blanchots » is a parcel of vineyard quite unique among the Chablis Grands Crus. Its clay and limestone soil along with the ferrous clay and morning sunlight give a distinctive and dominating floral character with remarkable finesse. This is the last vineyard parcel to be harvested every year. With East South-east exposure, this steep parcel has clay and limestone soil originating from upper Jurassic sedimentary strata (Kimmeridgian). It is the source of a rare and delicate wine.

Mild if not invisible wood influence frames the white flower, wet stone and hint of sea breeze aromas that are set against a backdrop of overt mineral reduction. The admirably rich yet refined and beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors possess excellent intensity and length on the citrus-suffused finish. I very much like the purity and transparency here as well as the outstanding freshness.

Pale, bright yellow. Spicy stone fruits, pineapple, and smoky minerality on the nose. Concentrated and sweet, with a more oily texture than the premier crus here. But this spicy, juicy wine is still quite tight. The lingering finish shows a strong citrus quality and sound acidity for the vintage
