Medium dark ruby. The bouquet is packed with dried Morello cherry, forest floor and earth tones laced with Chinese five spice and cinnamon notes. After a decant, Pommard's classic structure and muscle comes through with layers upon layers of brown spice seasoning and dried red fruit. The oak is judicious and well balanced from the mid-palate through the finish. Some black tea-like tannins provide a solid backbone for mid-term cellaring (3-6 years). However, there is plenty of "drink-me-know" pleasure to be had for those who can't wait. From the capable hands of a Cote de Beaune rising star, this will delight Burghounds and new world pinot fans alike. Très bien!

A black cherry-scented red, with loads of black cherry, raspberry and boysenberry fruit embedded in its voluptuous frame. Balanced on the soft side, yet not lacking for freshness. Best from 2013 through 2020.-BS
