2009 Prelude a Grand-Puy-Ducasse Bordeaux Blend
Bordeaux Blend: 750ml
about this wine:
The name Prélude states the ambition of this second wine: provide a true introduction to the Grand Vin. It is made from the young vines on the estate and is aged for a shorter period (16 to 18 months) than the first wine, yet receives the same care at every stage. This ensures that it is more supple and forward than its senior, while showing the same qualities of elegance and harmony.
Cory Gowan, JJ Buckley, August 2012
Translucent ruby. Pure cabernet aromas of cassis, wood spice, loam, coffee, pencil shavings, and a hint of peppermint. Fresh and serious, this is bright on entry, with pure flavors of strawberry and raspberry plus a touch of minerality and French vanilla. Taut on the mid palate, this opens to show loads of personality after a little time in the glass. Drink from 2012-2017+.

Taut and grippy, with a charcoal and loam frame to the black currant, fig paste and coffee notes.Stays grippy through the finish, but with solid flesh. Best from 2013 through 2020. -JM
