65% merlot, 25% cabernet franc, 10% cabernet sauvignon. This is a bright and fresh wine with notes of red currant, framboise liquor and blackberry. There is an abundance of red fruit and exotic spice on the mid palate, which offers extraordinary, supple texture, serious tannins and a finish that is long and intense Tightly wound at present, but this is still in the its early stage. A beautiful Chapelle d'Ausone. Drink over the next 15-20 years.

There is an amazing depth of berries, orange blossom and minerals. Wet earth too. Full body, with a super velvety palate of super polished tannins. It deep and soulful. It goes for minutes on the palate. This is very structured and muscular. Nearly always one of my favorite second wines. Try after 2018.

65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon produce the blend. Like its big brother, the wine will be aged in 100% new oak for about 20 months. This is the debut vintage for Chapelle d'Ausone to feature a large percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the assemblage. Smoke, cassis, stone and fresh blackberry aromas pair with a medium full bodied, sweet, round, tannic, blackberry and chocolate finish.

Tasted at Chateau Ausone. The bouquet on the Chapelle d'Ausone is very well defined with intense blackberry, cassis and seaweed aromas, plus a ferrous note in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a pure, ripe, sensual entry and to be honest, you are just smitten from here on in. Beautifully balanced with perfectly pitched acidity - this is an outstanding, sophisticated Chapelle d'Ausone.

The 2010 Chapelle Ausone is a very elegant wine with rather tart acids, this second wine of Ausone is medium-bodied, has dark raspberry and blueberry fruit notes with some hints of wet stones. Pure, nicely textured, but rather backward, this wine needs further bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030. 89+ -Robert Parker

This second wine of Château Ausone is powerful, dominated by firmly tannic wood-aged Merlot. The wine also has an intense, juicy fruitiness and hints of spiced wood cake. -R.V.

Focused and taut, with racy linzer torte and spice notes backed by dark licorice. There's lots of kirsch on the back end, and this is firm, but not overly so. -J.M.
