Moderate reduction renders the nose unreadable for the moment though there is excellent volume and phenolic ripeness to the generous and impressively rich medium-bodied flavors that possess an opulent, even juicy texture yet the overall palate impression is a serious wine of power and grace. This is a bit awkward today but everything is here for this to mature into potentially sensational juice.

The 2010 Griotte-Chambertin emerges from the glass with layers of rich, concentrated fruit. Floral and spice notes appear later as the wine fleshes out beautifully on the mid-palate and finish. This is an especially generous, supple 2010 loaded with radiance and sheer class. I loved it. Even with all the richness, there is plenty of focus and minerality to give the wine its sense of proportion. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. -Antonio Galloni

Bright full, deep red. Sexy, vibrant aromas of crushed dark fruits. Sappy, concentrated and deep, boasting superb inner-mouth tension and precision to the extremely primary berry and spice flavors; more vibrant and penetrating than the 2011. The resounding finish suggests a slow and glorious evolution in bottle.
