Mild reduction doesn't completely dominate the ripe plum and earth suffused nose. There is outstanding richness to the textured, mouth coating and quite concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that brim with an abundance of dry extract, all wrapped in a hugely long and powerful finish. There is great potential here though note that plenty of patience will be required.

The 2010 Clos de la Roche is a big, powerful wine built on structure and length. The Clos de la Roche has plenty of energy, but clearly needs time to fully come together. Red fruit, iron, minerals, saline notes and smoke power through to the intense, sinewy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030.

Good medium red. Musky, reduced nose offers black raspberry, leather, game and mineral aromas along with some oak-driven potpourri spices. Sweet but firm and young, with a youthfully reserved character to the flavors of raspberry, exotic spices and dried flowers. Some finishing oakiness still needs to be absorbed. I'd be in no hurry to uncork this. 92+
