Medium ruby with a pink rim. The nose offers a potpourri of wild red fruit including raspberry and cranberry, enhanced with cola, spice box, and tobacco nuances. As is typical of this otherworldly vintage, the palate is stunning, and solidly structured. While red forest fruit is the centerpiece, a spine of mouthwatering acidity continues long into the finish, with minerality and a taut, delineated backbone adding liveliness that will keep this wine fresh for years to come. An eye-opening expression of the vintage, this is exciting to drink now, but will benefit from 5-7 years of age.

Good dark red. Pure aromas of blackberry, cherry, white pepper and flowers, plus a whiff of menthol. Juicy, sappy and energetic, showing more personality--and density--today than the Lavaux. Rich and intensely flavored but still youthfully tight. Finishes brisk and long. 92+
