88 -91 points,

Burghound, January 2012

Classic ruby. This is very pinot with a highly expressive nose of ripe cherry and raspberry that is cut with notes of wet stone and earth. The medium-bodied flavors are attractively rich and very supple on the mid-palate yet tighten up significantly on the firmer, serious and persistent finish where a touch of wood influence arrives just at the end.

89 -92 points,

Stephen Tanzer's IWC, January 2012

Good bright red. Reticent aromas of dark cherry and crushed stone show a building spice character with air; less exuberant than the Champs Fulliot. Lovely definition and lift to the youthfully closed flavors of pomegranate, cherry and orange zest. Finishes firmly tannic and closed, but with excellent energy and subtle lingering perfume. These south-facing vines were picked at the beginning of the harvest.

About Winery

While the name Faiveley has been synonymous with Burgundy since the 19th century - the current Faiveley, Erwan is the eighth consecutive to run the family business - few can argue that it is this current team of passionate wine-makers, managers and technical supervisors who have catapulted Domaine Faiveley to a level never-before recognized. With state-of-the-art vinification equipment as well as a wine-making team now headed by the former managing director of Bouchard Pere et Fils, M. Bernard Hervet, the progress at Faiveley is indeed measurable. With all that's happening Chez Faiveley, it should come as no surprise that leading Burgundy critic, Allen Meadows (of Burghound fame) has this to report, ".Faiveley is a name that absolutely should be represented in your cellars."
