A bold, forward nose with aromas of melon, meyer lemon, minerals, and a hint of toast. Luscious and full-bodied on the palate, but with ample acidity, the wine shows exceptional balance with a clean, precise finish. The absence of malo and a light touch with the oak treatment allows the vibrant, fresh character of this variety to shine. An excellent example of serious Napa Chardonnay at an affordable price.

The 2010 Chardonnay is utterly impeccable and gracious. It boasts incredible finesse and textural balance in a clean, mineral-driven style. Smoke, slate, citrus and mint are some of the notes that flow through to the finish. This pure, unadulterated Chardonnay is simply stunning. It also happens to be very reasonably priced considering the quality. The Chardonnay is fermented in French oak barrels (10%) new, and the malo is blocked. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.

Pale yellow-gold. Sexy leesy nuances add interest to the aromas of peach, flowers and minerals. Dense, juicy and mineral-driven, with strong acidity framing the intense flavors of pineapple, lemon, mint and minerals. Finishes long and clean. Ric Forman notes that his no-malo chardonnay normally begins showing its charm about 18 months after the bottling (this one was bottled in June of 2010), typically revealing hazelnut and creme brulee character over the years. This bottling has a track record for evolving slowly in bottle.
