With noticeable aromas of new oak, there is a core of juicy, pure dark cherry fruit with an intriguing mineral component. The flavors are tightly wound, and the fruit is a touch compact on the finish which is supported by faint yet chalky tannins. There is an overall impression of elegance as opposed to power thanks to the fresh acidity that is nicely integrated. Closed now, this wine bodes well for short term cellaring over the next 8-10 years.

Rich and spicy note with cranberries, nutmeg and crushed white pepper. Seville orange, chocolate and blackberries coming out after a while. Full and dense on the palate with polished tannins and very long finish with lots of dark fruit. Pretty wine. Drink from 2015.

Dark purplish crimson. Very florally perfumed. Relatively lightweight but very suave. A little sweet, even slightly inky, on the finish. Very suave and well mannered. Just a slightly vegetal hint.

Located close to the St. Emilion village offers licorice, oak and black cherry, medium body and a soft, black raspberry finish.

A limpid ruby colour, the La Serre '10 has a rounded, sensual nose with black cherries, redcurrant and plum. Always one of the most generous bouquets at this early stage, it offers commendable purity and lift. The palate is very feminine and pure with black cherries, cassis and dark plum, harmonious and silky towards the finish. One of my favourite wines with the J-P Moueix portfolio, this comes highly recommended.

Readers looking for a wine for immediate gratification, filled with plump, fat, fleshy black cherry and black currant fruit and loamy soil notes as well as hints of balsam wood and underbrush should check out this medium to full-bodied, seductive wine, which has more power and density than it normally possesses. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. -Robert Parker

This has a nice sappy edge, offering kirsch and boysenberry preserves flavors that course along, with lots of mouthcoating fruitcake and melted licorice on the finish. There's a tarry thread too, for added texture and length. Solid. Best from 2015 through 2025. -JM
