2010 Pazo de Senorans Albarino
Albarino: 750ml
$19.99
about this wine:
Vineyards: In the subregion of Val do Salnes. As is typical in Rias Baixas, vineyards are very small, family owned plots. About one third of the wine is sourced from estate vineyards while the remaining comes from almost 200 growers - all of which have worked with the estate for 20 years and take tremendous pride in their grapes (plus they are paid according to the quality of the grapes).
Harvest: Growers bring sample bunches to the winery to be analyzed and winemaker Ana Quintela Suárez dictates when to harvest. Grapes are harvested in small cases and almost always by women.
Aging: 4 months in stainless steel on the lees

The 2010 Albarino was aged in small stainless steel vats sur lie with batonnage for 4 months. Jasmine, mineral, lemon zest, and other citrus notes inform the nose of this multi-dimensional, already complex white. On the palate tropical flavors emerge adding to the wine's pleasure quotient. Drink this superb effort over the next 3-4 years. -Jay Miller
