about this wine:
It is the stony ground to which the vine clings that has given rise to the name of this exceptional "climat ": " Perrières ". This Premier Cru has been renowned for its finesse and pureness for many years: in the mid 19th century, the wine maker, M. de Vergnette stated in one of his works that "Apart from the true Montrachets, I know of no other white wine so exquisite". Later, Dr. Lavalle mentioned it as "Tête de cuvée" in his 1855 rating.

By contrast to the Genevrières, the 2010 Perrières is a knockout with its superbly elegant nose that offers the hallmark mineral reduction and pure floral and white-fleshed fruit aromas that are very much in keeping with the refined flavors that seem constructed directly from the essence of stone. There is plenty of dry extract that imparts a textured feel to the mid-palate, all wrapped in a strikingly long finish that delivers outstanding length. In a word, terrific. ♥

Pale, bright yellow. Aromas and flavors of fresh peach and apricot, lemon-lime and crushed rock. Rich, dense, creamy and seamless, but with firm acidity and strong stony minerality leavening the wine's sweetness. Very complex and intense Perrieres with superb energy and length. Made from a blend of three parcels.
