93 -96 points,

Burghound, June 2012

In contrast to its two grands crus stable mates, this has already eaten almost all of its wood which allows the ripe green fruit, stone, apple and subtle spice hints to shine. There is very good richness to the precise and overtly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in a stunningly long and cuts-like-a-knife finish. This bone dry effort is almost painfully intense and there is a salinity that adds depth to what should be a masterpiece of wine in due time.

95 points,

Stephen Tanzer's IWC, September 2012

Palish bright yellow. Tight, vibrant nose offers white peach, pineapple, nut oils and brown spices. Juicy and sweet but kept under wraps today by powerful acidity. Still, this remarkably intense wine does not come across as austere owing the full ripeness of the fruit. Wonderfully classy Corton-Charlemagne with a penetrating, dusty, extremely long finish. This held up brilliantly in the recorked bottle. I suspect this wine will shut down in the next couple years. 95(+?)

About Winery

While the name Faiveley has been synonymous with Burgundy since the 19th century - the current Faiveley, Erwan is the eighth consecutive to run the family business - few can argue that it is this current team of passionate wine-makers, managers and technical supervisors who have catapulted Domaine Faiveley to a level never-before recognized. With state-of-the-art vinification equipment as well as a wine-making team now headed by the former managing director of Bouchard Pere et Fils, M. Bernard Hervet, the progress at Faiveley is indeed measurable. With all that's happening Chez Faiveley, it should come as no surprise that leading Burgundy critic, Allen Meadows (of Burghound fame) has this to report, ".Faiveley is a name that absolutely should be represented in your cellars."
